11 Bourmac Ave, Northbridge has hit the market as a forthcoming auction with a $9m guide.

Well-known hoteliers the Parras family are auctioning their grand estate in Northbridge, which has a $9m guide.

The five-bedroom house in Bourmac Ave has just come to market through Highland Double Bay’s David Malouf and is advertised as a grand family estate and the ultimate entertainer in a dress-circle east Northbridge address.

It has dual-street access, a swimming pool and is on 860sq m of land. An auction date is due to be set soon.

Records show that the property is owned by Colin Michael Parras and Daphne Parras, the mother and son duo who also own Dyco Hotels.

The company hit headlines this year when it tried to withdraw from a hotel purchase in 2020 and ended up in the High Court, which commented on the meaning of carrying on a business.

The Parras’ had agreed to buy the Quarryman’s Hotel in Pyrmont but didn’t complete the $11.25m sale, arguing that Covid public health orders meant the hotel was not carrying on business in the usual way and the contract had been frustrated.

Dyco Hotels lost the case and was ordered to pay costs.

Dyco Hotels used to own the Peachtree Hotel in Penrith, selling up in 2018 and soon after that Colin Parras said he was looking for his next project.

In 2020 he bought the Four in Hand pub in Paddington in 2020, paying $8.25m for the prominent hotel, which had been saved from demolition a couple of years earlier by petitioning residents.

The Parras’ Northbridge house was bought by the late Michael Parras, Colin’s father, in 2002 for $2.5m.

The large home has formal and informal living zones, a gourmet chef’s kitchen and parklike grounds.

There is also guest accommodation or nanny’s quarters and parking for four cars.
